Supervision
As a supervisor I offer 'consultative' supervision.
I offer supervision from a relational perspective. I am based in east Bristol BS5 (free and easy parking available).
My values are humanistic / person-centred. The main theoretical influences on my therapy practice are intersubjective systems theory (IST) and dialogical gestalt. IST provides a way of understanding the relational and contextual nature of emotional development and difficulties. IST and dialogical gestalt help me as a therapist to focus on: the client’s emotional experiencing, my emotional availability, and exploring what’s happening between us in the client/therapist relationship. These theories also underpin my approach to supervision practice, along with Hawkins and Shohet's Seven- eyed Model of Supervision.
My approach would suit qualified counsellors and therapists working from a contemporary relational psychotherapy/counselling perspective. It would also fit with practitioners working from person-centred and humanistic and integrative approaches.
